Confessions of a zip head – making the workplace easier for neurodivergents
I love designing and solving problems. In fact, I get so engaged that the world stops existing. I forget to eat, move or even go to the bathroom. I liken it to the “focused” or “zip heads” from Vernon Vinge’s Deepness in the Sky.
I want to share my experiences and path to late neurodivergence diagnoses and what I’ve learnt and am learning as part of this experience. Neurodivergence – autism, dyslexia and ADHD – helps some of us be really successful, but it also causes considerable strain.
We’ll talk through some definitions, get insights from people in tech with neurodivergent traits and share how we can tweak processes and environments to help everyone be more effective.
