Calvin Pedzai is a UX leader, speaker, and mentor with a passion for designing digital experiences that solve real problems at scale. As Head of Experience Design at Takealot.com—South Africa’s largest e-commerce platform—he leads a team of UX and UI designers driving product innovation across logistics, marketplace, and mobile teams. With over a decade of experience across fintech, travel, SaaS, and retail, Calvin blends systems thinking with human-centred design. His career spans roles as a software developer, UX analyst, and now design leader—giving him a rare end-to-end view of the product lifecycle. He holds a Master’s degree in Human-Computer Interaction and has led award-winning design work for brands like Investec, Lufthansa, and Kulula. Outside of work, he’s a dedicated mentor and advocate for growing UX talent across Africa through portfolio reviews, workshops, and community events.
