For years, UX South Africa has been one of the few spaces where South African designers, from researchers and product thinkers to visual designers and design leaders, could come together, share openly, and grow together. That hasn't changed. But what we're building around it has.
2026 marks the beginning of something bigger for UXSA. We're not just running a conference anymore. We're building a year-round platform for South Africa's design community, a place to learn, share, connect, and be seen.
What's New
Starting this year, UXSA is expanding beyond the annual event. We're launching a publication, a newsletter, a podcast, and later this year, a job portal, all designed to keep the conversation going long after the conference wraps.
These aren't side projects. They're core to what UXSA is becoming: a home for design thinking in South Africa, not just for three days in November, but every week of the year.
Why Now?
Our community has grown. The role of design in South African organisations has matured; from banking and insurance, to e-commerce, government services, and healthtech. Designers here are doing meaningful work, but too often that work stays invisible. Internal. Unshared.
We want to change that.
UXSA 2026 is about making the work visible, celebrating it, and building connections around it. It's about giving South African design practitioners a platform that reflects the quality of what they're already doing.
What's Ahead
Over the coming weeks we'll be sharing more, about the conference, about the new channels we're launching, and about the themes shaping design in South Africa right now. We hope you'll come along for the ride.
Welcome to the next chapter of UX South Africa.
