We're proud to announce the launch of the UXSA Publication, a new, community-driven design publication dedicated to the South African context.
This isn't a reblog of global UX trends. It's a space for local voices: designers, researchers, product managers, and design leaders working across South Africa's industries, sharing what they've learned, what's working, and what still needs figuring out.
What to Expect
During the off-season, we'll be publishing two articles per mont, a mix of practitioner stories, opinion pieces, and deep dives into design challenges that matter here. As we move into the active conference season, that cadence picks up to weekly articles, building momentum towards UXSA '26 in November.
Alongside the publication, we're also launching a regular newsletter to keep you in the loop, curated reads, community highlights, and updates on the conference and everything around it.
Why a Publication?
South Africa has an incredibly active design community, but we've never had a dedicated publication that tells our stories. The global design conversation is rich, but it doesn't always reflect the realities of designing for load-shedding schedules, multilingual interfaces, data-cost constraints, or services that need to work for first-time smartphone users.
We believe the best design writing comes from practitioners in the field. That's who this publication is for… and who it's by.
Want to Contribute?
We're actively looking for contributors. Whether you've got a case study, a hard-won lesson, a hot take, or an experience worth sharing, we want to hear from you. You don't need to be a seasoned writer; we'll work with you to shape the piece.
Drop us a line at info@uxsouthafrica.com if you're interested in writing for the UXSA Publication.
Coming Soon
Later this year we'll also be relaunching the UXSA Podcast and introducing a design job portal, more details on those soon. For now, subscribe to the newsletter so you don't miss a thing.
The UXSA Publication launches this February alongside the new uxsouthafrica.com.
